Philosophy
Once your second or third bicycle has been stolen, you inevitably start looking for a used bike instead of buying another expensive new one that is equally at risk of being stolen again.
But more and more people have had this same idea — and that is exactly why it has become increasingly difficult to find a cheap, non-stolen used bike. Demand is pushing prices up, often beyond the actual value of the bikes. Commercial sellers also drive prices higher through costs like shop rent and staff. The only alternative is private sales — often involving an odyssey across the city, much like flat-hunting.
This is exactly where "Used Bikes Berlin" comes in. Over several weeks, bikes are sourced and made sale-ready until there is enough choice to offer them at a single sales day. That saves your time and ours. The idea is to offer them at fair fixed prices, rather than setting them high and favouring those who are good at haggling ;-).
